Hi, I’m Megan Egbert!

Megan Egbert is a rising 3L law student pursuing a career in employment law following almost 15 years of service as a public librarian. Born and raised in the Gem State, Megan grew up enjoying the outdoors and recreating in North Idaho.

After moving to Boise in 2004 and earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Multi-Ethnic Studies from Boise State, Megan earned a Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas. Megan first became involved in Idaho politics in 2006 through her work on the steering committee of Idaho Votes No, the campaign to defeat the amendment to Idaho’s constitution, which forbid same-sex marriage.

In the years that followed, she volunteered for several campaigns, including the successful 2016 Yes! for Boise Schools bond campaign. Megan has been recognized as Idaho Woman of the Year, and Accomplished Under 40 by the Idaho Business Review, she has received the Women Making History Award for Boise State University, and in 2023 was awarded the Outstanding Classmate Award for the University of Idaho College of Law. She has volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem and served as a founding board member of the Treasure Valley Children’s Theater.

During the 2024 Legislative Session, she substituted on both the Senate and House sides of the Idaho Legislature. Of all the roles Megan has had, her most important has been being mom to her three children, ranging in age from 6-18, and a wife to her husband Mike– a tremendous father, educator and volunteer.
